altered states of consciousness

In what ways (if at all) do altered states of consciousness play a role in your life? After learning about all of the other non-sleep altered states, have you learned anything new that you may now use to improve the quality of your life? What steps do you think you can you take to experience more "flow" experiences?

Altered states of consciousness do not play a big role in my life. I feel as though in order to improve the quality of my life, I may consider meditation in order to help me reduce my anxiety. I think that by meditating for approximately 30 minutes each day, I will be able to clear my head of stress, and think through my decisions more clearly. In addition, I think that it will make my day run more smoothly, and help me to be in control of my life and the situations that I am faced with. I will try to harness my passion for painting in order to help me experience more "flow experiences" as well in order to pursue a successful life.
